Scam Alert
Members have alerted us to suspicious text messages and phone calls that appear to be originating from a spoofed HOCU phone number. As a reminder, HOCU will never ask for your personal or financial information or ask you to provide your debit card number over the phone.
New Letter Alert: We have also been made aware of scam letters circulating to members, falsely claiming to be from HOCU. These letters may request personal information or prompt recipients to call a fake phone number to process payments immediately. Do not call the number listed on the letter and call HOCU at 808-777-5646 if you receive one.
Stay Informed, Stay Protected
If you receive any communication—whether text messages, phone calls, or letters supposedly from HOCU— that seems suspicious or requests sensitive information:
- Do Not Respond: Avoid providing any personal or financial information.
- Verify Communication: Contact HOCU directly using official contact information or visit a HOCU branch to verify the legitimacy of the request.
- Report Immediately: If you notice any unusual activities or discrepancies with your statements or accounts, please report them to us as soon as possible.
